A plan for renewal
Each licence has a renewal card showing how long is left and a suggested date to start. The suggestion leaves time to renew anything that would run out around the application, and it lists those certificates for you, such as a gas safety report due before the licence expires.
It points you to your council’s page for the renewal form and fee. The suggested start is advice to help you plan, not a legal deadline.
When the new licence arrives, add it and the old one moves into the licence history.
Inspection mode
If an inspector visits, open inspection mode. It shows the licence and every condition on one plain screen, each with its status, its paragraph in the legislation and the evidence behind it, without the menus and buttons used day to day.
Hand over the phone, or go through it together.
An evidence pack for the council
Make a PDF for the council or an inspector, covering the last 12 months or any dates you choose:
- the licence
- every condition, with its evidence and dates
- the log of changeover checks, and any faults and their fixes
- copies of the certificates relied on now
Share it through a link that expires, and stop the link whenever you like. You can see when a link was last opened. The pack is made on LetKeeper’s servers, in the UK.
The guest safety pack
The licence conditions say what information must be available to guests in the property. LetKeeper builds the pack for you: the licence and its conditions, copies of the certificates, and your own words on fire, gas and electrical safety and how to get help.
Print it for the property, and add a QR code that opens the same pack on a guest’s phone. When a certificate is renewed, the pack updates and LetKeeper reminds you to replace the printed copy.
LetKeeper tracks evidence against published licence conditions. It is not legal advice, and an evidence pack doesn’t guarantee a licence will be renewed: the licence holder remains responsible for compliance and for the application. Always check your council’s requirements.
